A Dubai skydiving booking starts with one key choice: a real jump from an aircraft or an indoor flight in a wind tunnel. The outdoor tandem takes you to 13,000ft over Palm Jumeirah for around 60 seconds of freefall at 120mph, followed by a parachute descent. iFLY Dubai keeps you indoors, with two separate one-minute flights rather than one continuous two-minute flight.

The outdoor jump comes with age, weight and health requirements, and can be affected by weather. iFLY is more accessible, with no aircraft or altitude involved and flights available from age 3. Once you choose your experience, iFLY also lets you choose how much flight time you want.

If you want a taste of freefall without jumping from an aircraft, dealing with eligibility hurdles, or committing half a day, or you're bringing kids, book iFLY.
  • What comes with each experience? The Palm tandem includes a 20–30 minute tandem skydive experience, around 60 seconds of freefall from 13,000 ft, an expert instructor, photographs and a 3-minute edited video. iFLY includes a training session, flight suit, helmet and goggles, two one-minute flights, and one-on-one instructor guidance.
  • Am I eligible? The outdoor jump is ages 18–75, under 100kg (men) or 90kg (women) with a BMI cap and no alcohol in the 24 hours before. iFly's minimum age is 3 and under roughly 115kg, with its own separate weight limit and none of the altitude-related restrictions.
  • How long do I need? Budget 3–4 hours for the outdoor jump (the freefall itself is 60 seconds), and 60–90 minutes for iFly. Neither is a "pop in on your way somewhere" activity.
  • What if it's windy or overcast? The outdoor jump can be delayed, paused, or rescheduled — that's normal, not a red flag. iFly runs indoors regardless of weather, which is exactly why it's worth keeping as a backup plan.
  • When should I book the outdoor jump? Early in your trip, not on your last free day. If weather pushes your slot, you'll want room to reschedule.
  • Is it worth the price? For the Palm jump, yes if the iconic view and the included photos/video matter to you — that's what you're actually paying the premium for, not a longer or "better" jump. iFly is the low-commitment way to find out if skydiving is your thing at all.

Should you do both?

If your itinerary and budget allow it, there's a genuine case for booking both — not as two unrelated activities, but as one plan that works better together than either does alone.

  • Nervous first-timer? Do iFly a day or two before the Palm jump. It won't replicate freefall exactly, the tunnel is a sustained hover, not an accelerating fall, but it gets your body used to strong wind, an unfamiliar position, and trusting an instructor completely. Plenty of first-time jumpers say it took the edge off.
  • Mixed-age groups. Let the under-18s or anyone outside the weight/BMI limits fly at iFly while the rest of the group does the real jump, nobody just stands around watching.

18–75 on the day of the jump. If you're 70–75, you'll need a doctor-signed fitness form.

3 years and up. Under 18s need a parent or guardian's signed consent.

Weight/size

Women: 90kg or under, BMI 27.5 or under. Men: 100kg or under, BMI 30.0 or under. You're weighed in your shoes and clothes at check-in, this isn't negotiable.

Under 105kg if you're shorter than 180cm; under 115kg if you're taller. Contact iFly directly if you're above this, they assess case by case.

Health

Certain conditions (heart, back, recent surgery, etc.) require a doctor's fitness form before you'll be manifested.

When and where should you meet?

The two experiences run on very different schedules. The Palm is a morning-only outdoor jump; iFly is an indoor experience you can fit around the rest of your Dubai day. Neither includes hotel pickup, so you’ll need to make your own way there.
